Lazy Saturday’s are the best!  What is you favorite thing to do on a Lazy Saturday?

My Husband, four animals and I just enjoy our time together.  The best part of a lazy Saturday is… no cooking.  I may be a baker, and a very happy baker, but some days I just need to hang up the apron.

So today I wanted to share a recipe that was on Queen City Exclusive a few weeks ago.

When I was  a growing up, my Grandma always baked, cooked, and shared her treats with everyone!  My favorite memories are going to my Grandma’s house just for fun, or for any holiday, and the counter would be filled with an amazing array of foods.  I love learning from Grandma how to make her recipes.  There is something about making a dish that comes from the heart and soul of your precious Grandma.

In my year of blogging, the question always comes up, “What is your favorite cookie?”  My answer is ALWAYS a Snickerdoodle!

I called my Grandma and asked for her recipe, and her technique.  If I have to live far away from her, somehow I need to still have her cookie in my home.  I followed her recipe completely, and was taken back in time for the five days the cookies lasted in my home!

Here is the link for the Snickerdoodle recipe I shared on Queen City Exclusive!

Snickerdoodles –  Recipe by Grandma

1 cup butter flavored shortening

1 ½ cups sugar

2 eggs

2 ¾ cups flour

2 tsp cream of tarter

1 tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

2 Tbsp sugar

2 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit

Mix together shortening, sugar, and eggs.

In separate bowl mix together flour, cream of tarter, baking soda, and salt.

Add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mix well.  Chill for about 2 hours.

Grease baking sheet.  In small bowl, mix together sugar and cinnamon.  Make walnut size balls with dough, roll one side of ball in cinnamon sugar mixture.  Bake for 8-10 minutes, depending on oven.

Enjoy your favorite childhood recipe with a tall glass of milk!

Thank you to my beautiful Grandma, my tummy is always happy with all her lovely recipes!
